Skyway Park home offers character and style without breaking the bank

For most prospective homeowners, reading about the multi-million dollar properties sometimes detailed in these home-of-the-week articles is an exercise in fantasy: fun, but financially impossible. On the other hand, touring around new neighborhoods geared for the budget-conscious — feeling as if every house is basically the same boring box — can be uninspiring.

So imagine my surprise and delight when I toured this week’s featured home, a rare and red-hot property that brings together the amenities that make you say, “I want” with a price that makes you gasp, “I can!”

“Everything has been upgraded, all with quality materials, so it’s like buying a new house without the tract-home feel,” says Susan Cuddeback of The Platinum Group Realtors, who lists the Skyway Park home for $274,900.

The three-bedroom, two-bath home was built in 1955 and therefore boasts the quiet neighborhood, mature trees and period details expected in an established home. But Cuddeback takes pleasure in pointing out the seller’s top-to-bottom, tasteful renovation.
