Custom-built Fox Pines home offers ‘Beaver Creek style’ and amazing outdoor living space

0523cover-insetIf you wind west on Baptist Road until it’s surrounded by trees, sweep up a steep drive to a stucco home with forest green accents and a front porch supported by wood beams, and you feel like you’ve arrived at your vacation cabin in the woods, that’s exactly what the sellers of this custom five-bedroom, four-bath home in Fox Pines were aiming for.

“It’s a mountain retreat with a slight Tuscan feel,” says Tiffany Lachnidt of The Distinctive Group and RE/MAX Properties, who lists this week’s featured home for $575,000. She describes the flair of the home at Beaver Creek style, which means, “lots of wood beams, lots of stone work.”

Both elements become instantly evident upon entering into the great room, where a slate entry abuts hardwood floors. Most of the main level spreads out before you, covered with a peaked ceiling of tongue-and-groove wood paneling and punctuated by the home’s most dramatic feature: a four-sided floor-to-ceiling fireplace of tile and stucco, visible from the dining room, living room and kitchen.

“The fireplace in the great room affects the whole floor. It’s so dramatic,” says Lachnidt, who sweeps past a formal dining room with built-in arches and pillars into the living area. “And since it’s in the middle of the room, you still have wall space for all these windows.”
